Fenway for Game 1

Although I didn't have a ticket, it was fun to hang out outside the park to see the fans and the action before the game. Unfortunately, no one offered to give me their ticket.

Estes Park & Rocky Mountain National Park

We had a really fun day going up to Estes Park and Rocky Mountain national Park. When we arrived in Estes park we were greeted by a herd of elk wading in the lake. We were literally 10 feet away from them. We had pizza at a fun local pizzeria and then drove through RMNP on trail ridge road all the way through to Winter Park on the other side. Of course we stopped along the way to enjoy the scenery and do a small amount of hiking. Click on the images to enlarge them.

KUB Activities

Hi, everyone. We have been having beautiful warm weather except for a tornado warning on Thursday that brought heavy rain and lots of wind but no damage in our area. Yesterday we went with the branch to an apple farm. We fixed our lunch at the church kitchen and then drove to the farm and ate the lunch on the grass. Mike and Mary Ann, they make wonderful cider at this apple farm. We then had fun going on a hayride but there wasn't any hay just benches. We had worn our p-day clothes thinking we would have to climb up into a wagon full of hay. Besides the photos at the farm, I've included ones of dad sitting in his favorite reading chair at the church, our Thursday institute class, a birthday cake for a new convert, Rob, our first breakfast/lunch at one of the noon classes and my Nephi friend going up the tree.

It has been fun to see the photos of activities at home. You have had some great times together. Thanks for the cards and letters you have sent to us. We love receiving them! We pray for all of you. Love, Mom and Dad

The End of an Era: Elder Schill Leaves for Bolivia

Elder Scott Schill said farewell to a packed house last Sunday. He will report to the MTC on Wednesday, Oct 17 and will serve in the Santa Cruz, Bolivia Mission. This marks the end of an era and generation, until the next Elder Schill, Stuart Schill, will take up the reins in about ten years!

Good Luck Elder Schill!

Music

Hey, sorry I'm not sure how to get the music off the slideshow, so if it gets annoying you can turn the music off in the left bottom corner. I will delete the slide show in a few days.

Check out my Slide Show!

Julie, loved the slideshow but had to take it out due to the music.

Click here to see the slideshow without the music.

Thanks! Rob

Zone Conference and Conference Weekend

We have had quite a conference weekend. We watched all the sessions at the Stake Center. On Saturday, after the second session the priesthood members of the branch, plus Sister Schill went out for a Chuck A Rama type buffet. We had quite a crowd at the restaurant. We all got stuffed and then we went over to the stake center for sundae's prior to the priesthood session. Sister Schill went home and didn't go to the priesthood session. Then on Sunday, the branch president invited all of us to his home for lunch in between sessions. We had a great time there. After the last session we had our October baptismal service. Included is a picture of us along with Elder Sweat who did the baptizing for Brian Bush, shown in the picture. The other pictures are at Zone conference last week. The large picture is of all the missionaries in the Kalamazoo Zone. The other picture is lunch during zone conference where we were at a table with sister missionaries and with our mission president and his wife, Pres and Sister Edwards from Heber City. It has been an exciting and hectic week, and we are all ready to start another week tomorrow and get ready to celebrate Jeff's birthday later this week. For FHE on Monday night mom is making a cake for Rob Rice, our new convert from last month, since it is his birthday. We will have a party for him at the branch FHE. That's the news for this week.

PIZZA PARTY

Last Friday night our branch president made us some of his famous pizza. It was fun to see Pres. Johnson throw the dough up in the air. I was so excited to click my camera at just the right moment and capture his dough throwing talent.
