First Two Days

Today, our second day at the MTC, we focused on learning and then teaching the first discussion about the First Vision and the Book of Mormon. We get all of our materials out of Preach My Gospel. In the afternoon we taught the message to investigators who come to the MTC. Not real ones, but posing as investigators. The ones we had today were real good and raised lots of objections and harsh comments. With the new flexible discussions you don't have to stay to any script, but just teach in your own words, so it gives you more openings where they can add negative comments and objections. We had objections almost from the get-go. We taught for 45 minutes and then afterwards had a critique. I don't think the investigators are as tough on the younger missionaries, and probably are not as free to chastise their presenters as we had. We got comments all over the place. It was fun and we hung in there and finished all of the teaching objectives, then even got a commitment out of them to read, pray and have us back for more discussion. Tonight we had the MTC devotional and enjoyed it. It was Elder Kendrick from the Seventy. We have an extensive reading assignment for tomorrow, so we will be up reading late. We get up at 6 AM to start getting ready. Hope all is going well with all of you, Thanks. Elder Schill
