Dear fam,
Wow! sounds like you had quite the week. I hope things have settled down. I'm relieved grandma is doing better. You had me worried. She is such an amazing person.
I'm sad to hear the Ramirez girls couldn't go.
My companion is very talkative. We found out his girlfriends mom is Mary Lee - my honors english teacher at byu. A funny connection. I knew her pretty well. We had a special conference today, on pday, because dr. peterson an asian history and culture professor from byu visited. He spoke about korean religions. i'm sure he knows grandpa britsch but didn't get a chance to ask. right after we had an unplanned visit and short talk from Elder Choi of the seventy (newly called, korean). He just got back from training for 2 months. His countenance was different from when i met him last thanksgiving. A special and kinder change. Things are still going well in 부평. On Sunday, we looked to have a similar week with last week, but due to 2 investigators canceling on Monday we weren't able to meet them or teach with the 2 members that we had scheduled. However, we hope to make up for it. Last week, once again, we wrote our schedule on the board at church at the beginning of sunday school and passed around a signup sheet with exact times and investigator information (including the sister missionaries schedule). We saw good results from it. We had a member share his testimony and teaching experience from last week with the ward before we asked for help. After we finished, the bishop had also shared a few words about the members responsibilty to do missionary work. We love having his support and enthusiasm. He wants a missionary to speak for 5 mins every sacrament meeting. i'm up first. We have 소개 ed the women who want to meet to the sister missionaries. We are teaching mostly 대학생's. We have seen some great progress with a few of them. One plans to come church this sunday. Also, last saturday I got a call from college kid who said he wanted to go to church on Sunday (he had met with seoul missionaries and was back in town for the summer). So we met him and took him to church. I asked how he liked fast and testimony meeting and he said he was impressed. We will meet him tonight. We have been especially applying the training to give commitments boldly, mention Christ and the restoration in every principle, and make lesson plans for every lesson. We have seen great results. One of the college kids who we previously hadn't seen great progress with, we found out, just needed a stronger commitment to come to church. It all seemed to click for him after Lesson 2 and he plans to come to all 3 hrs on sunday. He continues to read the book of mormon 2 chapters/ day. Right now I'm studying korean in ways that will help me teach better. I'm also trying to read the book of mormon with the focus of better understanding the Savior. I want to really know my Savior well. Elder Hatfield continues to do well. Thanks.
Elder Britsch

Great to hear about Elder Britsch's many activities, and especially his time spent studying Korean. I'd bet he is getting very good at it by now. Thanks for posting the letters each week or so. Grandpa
